Licentiate in Philosophy

The Licentiate in Philosophy, lasting two years (4 semesters), corresponds to the second cycle of studies and has a specialized research character, both in the traditional fields of historical-philosophical investigation and in current issues that concern man and his religious, educational, social, and political dimensions.

The transversal skills developed within the Licentiate in Philosophy curriculum allow for occupational versatility in several sectors:

  • Teaching philosophy at the pre-university level (high schools) and education in public and private schools and training institutes.
  • Human resources management services in companies or organizations.
  • Cultural and editorial operator in libraries, museums, publishing houses, cultural institutions.
  • External communication and press office staff.

 

The structure of the study paths meets the standards required by the Bologna Process and the European civil and university institutions for the recognition of degrees.

The Faculty of Philosophy at UPS is also affiliated with other Italian universities to allow the achievement of the state title as well.

 

Admission requirements: Three-year Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy, or a three-year degree in Philosophy (subject to additional integrations necessary to obtain the Bachelor’s degree).

Knowledge of the Italian language at least at level B2 is required.

The Licentiate requires attendance at lectures.

 

 

The Licentiate in Philosophy offers two specialization tracks:

Licentiate in Philosophy with a specialization in Historical-Anthropological Sciences
Licentiate in Philosophy with a specialization in Human and Social Sciences
