The Doctorate in Philosophy, lasting at least three years, corresponds to the third cycle of studies and leads to the achievement of full scientific maturity, contributing to the advancement of research in the respective field of study. The Doctorate aims to train highly specialized Researchers and Professors at university institutions, subject to other legal requirements. In order for the candidate to obtain the academic title of Doctorate, it is required, in addition to fulfilling the academic commitments provided for the third cycle, that they have successfully defended their doctoral dissertation before a committee and have published the same dissertation, at least in its main part.
Admission requirements: Access to the Doctorate cycle is conditional on holding an ecclesiastical License in Philosophy. Doctorate candidates will be admitted by the Faculty Council after an interview with the Dean, preferably among candidates designated by philosophical study centers as potential future professors.
